Go2Cue for iPhone and iPad
Write to support@go2cue.com any time. Tell us what you see, your iPhone or iPad model, and the app's version (in the app: the cog, under This phone or This iPad).
For the stage manager's computer, see the Guide.
What the app needs
- Go2Cue on the stage manager's Mac or Windows PC. The iPhone and iPad app is a crew station: it does nothing on its own.
- The same network. Your iPhone or iPad on the same Wi-Fi or production network as that computer. No internet is needed during a show.
- iOS or iPadOS 16 or later.
It says NO LINK
- Check that you're on the show's network, not the venue's guest Wi-Fi or cellular data.
- Allow Local Network. Go2Cue asks the first time it opens. If you said no: open the iPhone's Settings, find Go2Cue (under Apps on newer iOS), and turn on Local Network.
- Some venue Wi-Fi hides devices from each other. In the app, open the cog and type the stage manager's computer's IP address under Stage manager's computer. Your stage manager can find it on their computer (on a Mac: System Settings, Wi-Fi, Details; on Windows: the network's properties).
- If the stage manager runs more than one show on the network, set the same system number they use. Otherwise leave it at 1.
It says LICENSE FULL
The stage manager's computer is already calling as many stations as its license allows. The app itself is free; ask your stage manager to make room.
Coms
- Turn on Coms under the cog, and allow the microphone when asked. If you said no: the iPhone's Settings, Go2Cue, Microphone.
- A wired headset works best. Bluetooth works, with more delay. With no headset, the speaker and mic are used, with echo cancelling.
- Hold TALK to talk, or tap it twice to leave it open. CALL gets the stage manager's attention.
- Hear the stage manager but can't talk back? Talking back from a station comes with Go2Cue Coms Lite or Pro on the stage manager's computer.
- With Coms on, Go2Cue keeps running with the screen locked.
It went offline when I locked the phone
With Coms off, Go2Cue pauses when you lock the phone or switch apps, and the stage manager sees your station go offline. Open it again and you're back. To keep it on, leave it open: the screen stays on while Go2Cue is open, and Dim when quiet keeps it dark between cues.
I don't hear messages
Turn on Message sound under the cog. A message chimes three times, thirty seconds apart, until it's read, even with the ringer switch on silent.
Privacy
The app has no account, ads or tracking, and collects nothing. Your cues, messages and voice stay on your show network. The full privacy policy.
